GUEST BEER // SCHNEIDER WEISSE HOPFEN-WEISSE (TAP 5)

Posted by Mark in Guest Beer Reviews

In this section of the website you will find concise reviews of some of our interesting guest beers.

SCHNEIDER WEISSE HOPFEN-WEISSE (TAP 5) – Keg (8.2%)

OVERVIEW This brew is the result of the long friendship of Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver and Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler.

APPEARANCE A very thick and hazy / murky orange colour with a white head.

AROMA Huge banoffee pie aroma. Quite sweet and fresh.

TASTE At first the banoffee pie but develops into a peaches and cream taste. A great balance of yeast and hops. Creamy. A nice passionfruit aftertaste

VERDICT A cross between an excellent German wheat beer and a fine American IPA. An exceptional beer.

GUEST BEER // VICTORY HOP WALLOP

Posted by Mark in Guest Beer Reviews

In this section of the website you will find concise reviews of some of our interesting guest beers.

VICTORY HOP WALLOP – 355ml bottle (8.5%)

OVERVIEW A double IPA from one of Pennsylvania’s finest breweries.

APPEARANCE Light tangerine in colour that is transparent but slightly hazy. A fine off white head.

AROMA A subtle tropical fruit aroma with pine. Not intense as some similar beers.

TASTE Very dry and bitter. Big flavours. Notes of clementine, peach, mango and more. The flavour lingers and leaves a very dry, papaya aftertaste.

VERDICT An intensely dry and bitter beer. Very drinkable considering the abv.
