That’s right folks, it’s almost been a year since we opened our doors to the beer loving public of Bradford. In this short time we have developed a lovely loyal fan base, attracted beer fans from as far as Cornwall and Edinburgh and featured in The Guardian’s Top 10 UK Craft Beer Bars. We recently won Bradford CAMRA’s Pub Of The Year 2012 and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers!

We have some treats lined up for you for our birthday party, Les and Mark have brewed two special celebration beers in collaboration with Saltaire brewery. Both beers are heavily dry hopped IPAs. Two new keg lines will be launched to coincide with our celebrations and they will be pouring some pretty special beers. The fridges with be filled with some big, rare, party bottles for your enjoyment.

Beers lined up so far:

CASK:
Our two birthday beers that we brewed with Saltaire Brewery – Dunnock American IPA & Black Throat Black IPA (they are both named after species of Sparrow). Plus beers from some of our favourites including Quantum, Red Willow, Buxton, Kirkstall, Magic Rock, Ilkley and Hawkshead!

KEG:
Boon Kriek, Sierra Nevada Ruthless, Nogne O Two Captains plus more!

BOTTLES:

BrewDog & The Sparrow Present Libertine Porter Launch Party // Wed 29th Feb // 7pm

Posted by Mark in Events

We are pleased to announce that The Sparrow will be hosting the launch party for BrewDog’s limited edition Libertine Porter. Guests will get to taste the first keg of Libertine Porter to be released outside of the BrewDog bars. Don’t say that we ain’t good to you. Other experimental stouts and porters from BrewDog will be available on the night for you to sample, including:

Lost Dog - A rum barrel aged imperial porter, brewed in collaboartion with the legendary Lost Abbey brewery.

Paradox - A barrel aged imperial stout aged in Jura Whiskey casks.

AB:08 - An imperial stout that is blonde in colour!

Tactical Nuclear Penguin - A 32% imperial stout that has been matured in barrels for 14 months.

This event is a must for fans of stouts and porters but don’t worry if you aren’t as we have plenty of other BrewDog beers on offer including the classic Punk IPA on tap.

Libertine Porter tasting notes: “A dry hopped aggressive porter. A rock n’ roll take on a classic beer style. Decloaked and radically reinvisaged, BrewDog’s Libertine Porter is a 5.9% union of one ancient recipe and an avalanche of cross continental hop varieties. All resulting in an irreverent, devil may care rollercoaster of a porter. Oh and did we mention it was hoppy.”

Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. We hope to see you there x
